Celebrate Spirit! is September 9

D1 students are highly encouraged to attend Celebrate Spirit! This is an annual event and is described as the official welcoming event to the new school year and part of a long tradition dating from European universities in the Middle Ages. At the Celebrate Spirit! Mass, we call on God’s Spirit for inspiration and blessing as we begin a new academic year. Celebrate Spirit is Thursday September 9 from 11:30 – 1:00 on the McNichols Campus.

https://www.udmercy.edu/life/ministry/celebrate-spirit.php

Since this day/time conflicts with your Biomed I lectures, the faculty have rearranged lectures on that day so that you are free from 11:00 to 1:30 to drive to McNichols and participate in the activities of the day. Keep in mind that you are expected to attend all classes held after 1:30, including DENT 8001.

Please participate in this event and show DS1 Dental Spirit!!

COVID & Mental Health Survey

Please see the message below from Dr. Josh Thomson. Some of you may remember taking an earlier version of this survey last summer; this version is a follow-up. You can complete this survey even if you did not complete the previous surveys. We thank you for your participation!

I hope everyone is doing well. I am the principal investigator on a research study in association with the Office of Student Services and Enrollment Management entitled “Impact of COVID-19 ‘Stay Home, Stay Safe’ Orders on Dental Student Emotional Wellness”.

This study aims to determine emotional wellness of students over the past two semesters to further build upon two previous studies in April-May 2020 and June 2020. It does not matter if you have or have not completed either of the other studies.

Please consider following this link to the survey (~5-10 minutes) and participating in this follow-up survey for our research study:

https://udmercy.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_abdZuNunutn2nsy

This survey will be closed on June 2nd, 2021.

Thank you for your consideration and please feel free to email me with any questions.

Sincerely,

Dr. Thomson
