We are excited to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Dudley Randall Poetry Prize!

Each year, the Detroit Mercy English Department honors Dudley Randall, the late poet, publisher, and University of Detroit Mercy librarian and poet-in-residence, by sponsoring a poetry competition in his name. Detroit Mercy undergraduates are eligible to submit one poem of 55 or fewer lines—all topics and poetic forms are welcome. This year’s judges are poets Claire Crabtree, Michael Lauchlan, and Alison Powell.

First Prize $150          Second Prize $75           Third Prize $50

Details on how to submit your poem are included on the entry form, which is available as a fillable PDF at this link: Dudley Randall Poetry Prize. The winner of the first prize must be available to read the poem at the annual Honors Convocation on Sunday, March 22, where all of the winners will be honored. Winning poems will also be published in The Varsity News.

Deadline for Submissions: Saturday, February 15th, 2020
