Job Searching Resources

  • Our school website has a Career Opportunities section where positions are regularly posted.
  • The MDA also posts positions on their  Careers page.
  • The MDA is available to consult on CVs! All dental students are welcome to email CVs to Brandy Ryan, Director of Human Resources at the Michigan Dental Association, at bryan@michigandental.org.

Winter Clothing Drive

The Dental Class of 2023 has organized a Winter Clothing Drive, and all are welcome to donate. Please bring any gently used winter clothing (such as coats, sweaters, socks, scarfs, gloves, etc) that you no longer use, or just wish to donate, to the donation boxes which will be set up in the first and second floor of the classroom building across from the restrooms. Last day for donations will be Thursday, December 12th and all donations will go towards the Matrix Human Services organization. We have specifically selected Matrix Human Service because it is a non-profit organization that quarterly distributes to men, women and children in Detroit.

This Wednesday: Dental Friendsgiving!

This year, the Detroit Mercy Dental Student Government Association is excited to bring you Dental Friendsgiving! The Holiday party seems to always fall at less than ideal timing because of finals, so this year we want to start a new holiday tradition. Save the date Wednesday November 20th at 5:45pm in Special Functions for Thanksgiving dinner and festivities. A few details:

  • The Student Government Association will provide dinner for all faculty, staff, and students. We ask that faculty and staff bring beverages to share.
  • All are welcome to bring a dessert to enter our dessert contest. Winner will receive $100 Amazon gift card. Please fill out this form if you plan to bring a dessert to enter in the contest (you will need to log in with your Detroit Mercy credentials): https://udmercy.campuslabs.com/engage/submitter/form/start/353377
  • We are also welcoming donations for our Detroit Mercy Dental Family Pantry. Any non-perishable items are welcome and will give you a vote towards who will win the dessert contest. Items like granola bars, peanut butter, and pasta are usually popular as well as any single-serve item. We also accept feminine products. 1 non perishable item = 1 vote. 3 non perishable items = 5 votes.
