ADEA’s Climate Study – Participate in this survey

The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) has officially launched its climate survey of U.S. and Canadian dental schools/allied dental education programs. The survey is purely voluntary and will be available from Monday January 24, 2022, and you will have until Friday, March 4th, 2022, to complete the survey. To assist us in creating a more humanistic environment supportive of all persons, we encourage ALL students, faculty, and staff to complete the climate survey.

The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.  It allows you to share your perceptions of the climate, well-being, belonging, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Because we are gathering sensitive information regarding your perceptions and opinions, your survey responses will remain confidential. The climate survey allows you to skip any question that you do not wish to answer and still progress through the survey. Demographic data collected will help us analyze trends and have a better understanding of the study participants at your dental school/allied dental education program and across dental education.  Because we realize that people based on their social identities and group memberships may experience their environment differently, data will be reported in the aggregate to maintain anonymity.   Where sample sizes are too small to report, it will be noted in the report findings. In these instances, participant responses will be reflected in the overall findings across dental education. No personally identifiable information will be shared. Our goal is to understand the lived experiences and environmental perceptions of students, faculty, and staff in dental education.

We know your time is valuable and want to make it worthwhile. Therefore, upon completing the survey, participants will have the option to participate in randomized drawings for prizes by clicking on a link that will take them to a separate online form to enter their names and email addresses.  The separate online form to register for random prize giveaways is independent of the climate study, and individual participant information is not tracked or connected in any way to the climate survey.  Therefore, participant information and responses to the climate survey will remain anonymous.

Access the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ADEAClimateStudy

Participants have until Friday March 4th, 2022 to complete the survey.

For more information on the ADEA climate study, please visit adea.org/climatestudy or contact your Campus Liaison(s) Dr. Juliette Daniels (danieljc@udmercy.edu) or Prof. Maureen VanHook (vanhooma@udmercy.edu) .

Thank you for your participation.
