Mental Health and Self-care w/ Prof. Candace Ziglor Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 6pm

Please consider joining us on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 6pm.

We will explore self-love and self-compassion in order to increase awareness around our own personal tools of self-care.  We hear words like self-care and self-compassion all the time, but what do they really mean. It can be easy to focus your energy on taking care of the needs of others but all the while forgetting about your own needs.

More Information

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying ‘Yes’ to saving the life of a patient, friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor. QPR Training reinforces that quality education empowers all people, regardless of their background, to make a positive difference in the life of someone they know. QPR plants the seeds of hope, which saves lives.

Course Objectives
At the end of this course, attendees will be able to:

·         Identify the warning signs of suicide

·         Identify risk and protective factors for suicide

·         Identify how to help someone in a mental health crisis
